Bail Bond Process & Features

What exactly is a bail bond?

A bail bond is a contract between the bail agent (Alpha Bonding), the courts, and you (the person posting bail). We post the full bail amount to the court as a guarantee that the defendant will attend all required court dates.

How does a surety bail bond differ from a cash bond?

A cash bond requires the full bail amount to be paid in cash. A surety bail bond allows us, the bond company, to pay the full bail amount, and you only pay us a portion of the total bail amount (often around 10%) as a fee.

Why does the court require a bond in the first place?

The court requires money in the form of a bond to act as an incentive to keep you from fleeing and to guarantee that you will show up to your future court date.

If I'm using a bail bond, do I have to pay the full bail amount?

No, when you use our bail bond service, you typically pay us a set fee (a percentage of the total bail amount) and provide collateral. We then assume liability for the full bail amount on your behalf.

Will I encounter hidden fees while working with your team?

No, we operate with no hidden fees. We aim to be honest and upfront about all costs associated with the bail bond.

What happens to the collateral after the case is closed?

Once your case is closed and we receive official notice from the court, we will dissolve the bail bond and return your collateral, provided all payments have been made.

How quickly is the collateral returned?

We guarantee collateral return within 10 days once the case is closed and we receive the official notice of discharge from the court.

Can I use a vehicle as collateral for a bond?

Yes – collateral can vary, but it typically includes real estate, vehicles, jewelry, or other valuable assets. We will work with you to determine acceptable collateral.

Can a family member or friend call you on my behalf?

Yes – if you are arrested, all you have to do is have a family member or friend call us, and we’ll take care of the rest to get the bond posted.

What is the typical process for getting someone released after an arrest at the Atlanta City Detention Center (ACDC)?

After an arrest within Atlanta city limits, the individual is booked into the Atlanta City Detention Center (ACDC). Once fully booked, they have the opportunity to post a bond, and we step in to post the bail bond right away.

Do you offer payment plans for your bail bonds?
