Walmart and Felons, Do They Mix?
Walmart makes it a point to say that it is an equal opportunity employer. Is this really true? Take a look at what we uncovered.
Walmart is a huge business that has many responsibilities. The primary one is to protect their customers and employees. One of the ways they are doing this is by using a background check. We sent a couple of felons to Walmart to see if they could get a hired. They both were offered a position that they could have, if they were able to pass a drug test. Seeing how both applicants were on probation and passed all their drugs tests they should have passed the ones Walmart gave them. After a week or so both applicants received a letter in the mail from a place saying they filled something out wrong on the background check portion of the application. They refer them to a global background checking company. This letter instructs you to call this company. When they called this company they spoke with an customer service representative. This representative asked them for their social security numbers along with everything else they needed to run a global scan on their backgrounds and then sent it to Walmart. They told them that it will be around 5-10 days before Walmart goes through it and lets you know what happening. At this point you will have to call Walmart and ask what is going on with your background check. Once you call Walmart they will let you know that the reason you are not hired is because you have issues with your background. The only thing that can make sense based off of the paper work they give you and the phone calls that these applicants made is that they do not hire felons. Yes there may be 1 or 2 that have slipped through their cracks, However as a majority this is a true statement. I guess this answers the question “Does Walmart hire felons?”
If this article has helped you out in anyway please share this on your social media accounts or email it to other felons that you may know.
